Savoury Steel Cut Oats Risotto

Steel-cut oats are actually groats of whole oats which have been chopped into two or three pieces by a steel blade! This means that steel-cut oats are minimally processed which helps retains its high protein and fiber levels.

Furthermore, steel-cut oats can improve fullness and are also an excellent source of Vitamin B Complex which is needed for healthy brain function and good digestion.

Steel-cut oats can be easy to prepare and enjoyed anytime of the day with this easy yet savoury steel-cut oats risotto recipe! Steel-cut oats can also accommodate a variety of toppings including fresh and dried fruit.

Step 1

Bring 2 cups of water and 2 cups of broth to boil.

Step 2

Add 1 cup of Organic Steel Cut Oats into mixture

Step 3

Add Chia seeds 

Step 4

Reduce heat to medium low/simmer gently for 20-25mins until mixture thickens.

Step 5

Add a pinch of salt and stir occasionally.

Step 6

Reduce heat when necessary to avoid scorching at the bottom. When liquid is mostly absorbed, remove from heat. Let oatmeal cool for 5 mins.

Step 7

Garnish with your favourite nuts & seeds!
